Scallops - first time

Today was the first time I cooked scallops and it wasn't hard at all.

I had 1 lb fresh sea scallops (no chemicals or thats what Giant claims).
So I used:

  • 1 lb scallops
  • abt 3 tbs olive oil
  • 3/4 cup of fine chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup of yoghurt
  • 1/2 cup of wine
  • 3 cloves of garlic - sliced
  • rosemary
  • red crushed pepper (for spice)
What I did:
  1. washed and dried the scallops
  2. heated olive oil with rosemary (also added salt) and put the scallops in. Tossed them on each side until they got harder and light gold on the outside. Also added half of the garlic in the process.
  3. took the scallops out and added the onions, wine and yoghurt over the oil. Boiled until some of the liquid evaporated (for abt 4-5 minutes)
  4. Put back the scallops, the rest of the garlic and two basil leaves. Turned them over once and turned off the heat, putting the cover on.
Served this over spaghetti pasta with a side of broccoli and lightly steamed cherry tomatoes. Lovely.
